THE next round of workshops for West Sussex businesses keen to bid for London 2012 contracts starts this month.
The Olympic and Paralympic Games mean business opportunities for thousands of small firms in the country where they're held.
There are more than 6,000 contracts on offer for the London 2012 Games, and West Sussex – Ahead of the Game, is supporting
businesses to find out what is on offer and how to bid for them.
Two free workshops are taking place in West Sussex, organised by Business Link:
· Thursday February 11, 'Quality Management' at the Arora International Hotel, Crawley. Aimed at businesses who have registered on CompeteFor, the website where Games-related contract opportunities are published.
This workshops helps firms to write a management statement, which is an essential requirement for bidding and winning a London 2012 contract. Attendees will write a draft statement and find out how it can help with all public sector contract bidding.
· Tuesday March 23, 'Advanced bid-writing' at the Hickstead Hotel, Bolney, looking in depth at the London 2012 and public sector procurement process. Learn how to write clear and concise responses to tender questions and how to create presentations. This workshop is also a good opportunity to speak to businesses that have won contracts and get tips from them.
West Sussex County Council Leader Henry Smith said: "West Sussex – Ahead of the Game is the countywide initiative to help our county make the most of the 2012 Games. If your business is thinking of getting involved, sign up to these free workshops to find out how you could be a 2012 winner."
