A charity golf competition is taking place later this month to raise money for St Michael's Hospice.
The Andrea Hodd Trophy 2008 event will be held next Friday (August 15) at Beauport Park Golf Course.

More than 20 local businesses are sponsoring the event and 60 people are taking part so far.

The competition is named after Hastings resident Andrea Hodd, who died aged 52 last year, and who was cared for by St Michael's Hospice.

Her son Jamie, who, together with his brother Brian, are organising the contest, said: "With the success of last year we were able to make a donation that exceeded £5,000 and we hope to make another substantial amount this year.

"We know that those who took part last year most certainly made the day a memorable one."

Sky has donated all the trophies which will be presented to winning teams in the evening at the golf course.
