A road in Hastings town centre has been cordoned off by police after a domestic disturbance escalated.
They put up blockades at both ends of Devonshire Road just before 2pm to prevent vehicles and pedestrians passing.

There are currently about 30 police officers and a dozen police vehicles, including an armed response unit, at the scene.

A witness said: "It is swarming with police at the moment. They have sealed off the entire road. There are about 12 police units including an armed response unit as well as dog handlers."

A Sussex Police spokesman said: "We were alerted at 1.42pm. Devonshire Road has been cordoned off to vehicles and pedestians. It is a domestic disturbance which has escalated."
