Blue Reef Aquarium was overrun by pirates at the weekend.

Staff joined in the fun by creating their own pirates' costumes and visitors who in fancy dress were given reduced entry.

The Pirates Weekend saw various activities taking place, including flag making, pirate quizzes and swashbuckling fun and games.

Visitors also took part in treasure trails, competitions and guided tours around the aquarium accompanied by staff in fancy dress.

Siobhan Gibbons from the aquarium said: "Pirates weekend was a great success.

"The Jolly Roger was hoisted up early Saturday morning ready for a weekend of pirate action. A fun time was had by all."
