AN attacker who slashed another man across the face with what is believed to have been a craft knife is being sought by police.

The 25-year-old victim had returned home to Collington Avenue on Saturday night after having been out drinking. Police said he had gone out again to sit on the garden wall and have a smoke when another man approached him and aimed what the victim at first thought had been a punch to his face.
The attacker, described as about 5ft 9ins and wearing a white top, ran off in the direction of Little Common after the attack.
The victim declined hospital treatment when CID officers attended the scene.
