Beatles Day organisers need a little help from their friends

The annual Beatles Day extravaganza is fast approaching and organisers are in need of a little help from their friends.
This year's show, which takes part on Sunday April 6, will include a tribute to Pete Lockhart - one of the key figures behind previous Beatles Day shows.
Mr Lockhart played an important part in the annual Macmillan Cancer Support fundraiser but sadly passed away just before Christmas.
To mark his contribution, organisers have put together plans for a grand finale where dozens of musicians will join together to perform Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in its entirety - something not even the original Beatles did.
Now they want to hear from any musicians who would like to take part in what promises to be a show-stopping climax to the event.
Mike Hatchard is one of the people behind the performance and the talented pianist revealed the sort people they need to make it work.
He said: "Ideally we would like people who are of a decent standard, say Grade Six or above. We are looking for anyone who can play any orchestral instrument. Anyone who can play instruments like the french horn, saxophone or clarinet would be more than welcome.
"It promises to be quite a show."
The tribute will take place on the main stage at the White Rock Theatre, which is opening its doors to fans of the fab four for the second year in a row.
Since it began nine years ago, Beatles Day has raised more than £50,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
More than 200 local musicians have performed at the event, which features more than 10 hours of Beatles covers on two stages each year.
Already confirmed as taking part are The Electric Beatles and the fabulous Sub Marino Marinos, featuring Blair Mackichan and Steve Furst.
The restaurant and licensed bars will be open throughout the day and there will be a face painter in the afternoon for the kids.
Volunteers will also be on hand, selling t-shirts, posters and tickets for a raffle. If previous years are anything to go by there will be some top quality prizes to be won.
All of the musicians, organisers and helpers donate their time completely free and all the money raised goes to help local people with cancer.
Admission is £7.50 for adults and £20 for a family of two adults and up to three children under 16.
Anyone who wants to appear in the Sgt Pepper finale should ring Mike Hatchard on 07710217672 or email mike.hatchard@virgin.net.
