A suspected burglar got stuck on a roof in the early hours of this morning (Friday).
Two engines from Horley joined at least three police cars and a dog unit for the rescue mission just before 2am.

Three sets of ladders were needed to reach the stranded lad, thought to be 17-years-old, who was trapped on top of a four storey building in Albert Road, Horley.

Fire fighters gained access to the roof via a neighbouring multi-storey car park.

The Regent house community centre caters for the needs of elderly and is run in partnership with Reigate and Banstead Council and volunteers.

A spokeswoman for Surrey Fire and Rescue said: "We had a call to respond to persons trapped on a roof in Horley High Street.

"The man was uninjured. We sent two pumps to the call and three sets of extendable ladders to get the lad down. We gained entry through a multi-storey car park at the back of the building.

"At least three police cars and a dog unit were also in attendance."

Surrey Police are currently investigating what the youth was doing on top of the building.
