FURIOUS protesters gathered at the town hall on Friday - shouting down plans to plant a 2km sewage pipe underneath beautiful Broadfield Park.
A group of 15 local people organised the protest after it emerged last month that the park is to be dug up in order for work to be carried out.

Residents were met by council bosses who held a Q&A session in a bid to reassure them.

But fuming residents slammed town hall chiefs for not notifying residents about the plans sooner.

Broadfield resident Karen Gold said she was 'disgusted' residents weren't consulted.

She said: "I think it is disgusting that we weren't given any information about the plans.

"The first we knew of it was when it was reported in the local paper.

"It's just outrageous."
