1,800 hit by powercut
AROUND 1,800 homes and businesses in Lewes were left without electricity today (Wednesday).
The powercut happened just after 8am and hit buildings in Southover area, including Lewes Railway Station.
Power supplier EDF Energy Networks apologised and said it was due to a fault on its electricity network.
Engineers restored the power in stages between 8.53am and 9.30am.
