RIPE residents who object to a scheme to build a 20-metre mobile phone mast in the village centre are staging a public meeting at the village hall at 7.30pm on Monday, November 5.
Operators O2 overturned Wealden planners' decision to refuse the scheme.
They won the right to build the mast on land at Church Farm on appeal, saying there was a need to plug a hole in the network.
Meeting organiser Ian Northcott said: 'O2 and the Government inspector have ridden roughshod over this community.
'This leaves a bad taste and the village is up in arms.
'We don't believe O2's claims as people living here with O2 phones can get a full signal.'
He explained the local nursery school was 160 metres away from the site and no-one at the school was formally consulted.
