UCKFIELD, Maresfield, the A272 and A22 were gridlocked this morning (Tuesday) after a HGV trailer overturned on the Blackdown roundabout at 7am.
Witnesses said Uckfield town centre and bypass were jammed with traffic throughout the rush hour.

Police guided traffic around the trailer which overturned as the lorry towing it headed south.

One lane was blocked.

Later in the morning the road was shut and diversions put in place so the vehicle could be recovered.

The trailer was soft sided and bore the logo: System 10 - Eclipse.

No-one was hurt.
