POLICE have promised to review vandalism problems in Hailsham Country Park.
Neighbours are concerned about gangs of youth hanging about.

There have been reports of bins fires, bricks thrown through a window and underage drinking.

Concerns were raised at a Safer Wealden Partnership public meeting.

Wealden Chief Inspector Neil Honnor said: 'This is a really good example of a complex problem. The country park is a wonderful facility for all people to use.

'What we want to deal with the root cause of it. The teenagers are getting alcohol from other places. Who is buying it for them? We know a lot of young people get alcohol from home.'
