Police are carrying out patrols at a woodland car park in Mid Sussex after complaints of couples engaging in outdoor sexual activities.
They say the car park off the B2110 next to the Cowdray Forest on the edge of Balcombe is known as a site where strangers and couples meet for sexual encounters.

Haywards Heath Police Inspector Ed Henriet said it was apparent that people were visiting the car park from outside of the area knowing of its reputation.

He said: "We, as police officers, have to deliver a proportional response and currently that revolves around officers attending the car park in marked vehicles, throughout the day and night, at regular intervals, as part of planned patrols."

Insp Henriet said a number of similarly secluded and wooded sites were used by both same and different sex couples for liaisons, either planned or solicited, but the Cowdray Forest location was the main one in the Mid Sussex area.
