THE AROMA of coffee will be wafting out of offices and kitchens in Mid Sussex over the next few days as colleagues and friends get together to raise cash for Macmillan Cancer Support.
The World's Biggest Coffee Morning is the charity's flagship fundraising event and among those taking part will be the 9th Haywards Heath Guides.
One of their Guiders is a Macmillan nurse so the Guides have decided to hold a coffee evening on Monday at the Guide Hall for their parents and a few invited guests.
As well as teas and coffees some of the Guides will be earning their next badge by baking delicious cakes and holding a beetle drive and raffle.
Staff at the Middy will also be putting the kettle on and tucking into homemade cakes today (September 25) to boost the charity's coffers.
Every cup raised allows Macmillan to continue to provide medical, emotional, financial and practical support to people living with cancer.
With 780 people diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK, these services are needed more than ever.
Staff, residents and relatives at Russettings Care Home in Mill Lane, Balcombe, are taking part in the event tomorrow (September 26). The home, part of the Alpha Care Homes group, hopes to contribute towards its £1,000 target for the day.
