BURGESS HILL'S Summer Festival is off to a flying start after its opening events.
The aviators of Oakmeeds Day Nursery had plenty to celebrate when their Oakmeeds Airways display won first place.
Led by "Cpt" Mandy Geal the group traced flying history, including Zac Quaglieri, eight, who supported his own plane.
Walkers and float-holders were inventive in Saturday's parade in interpreting innovation and discoveries from space travel to medicine.
