FIRMS in Mid Sussex will be showing off their eco-credentials as part of a summer festival.
One of the attractions at the Community Eco Fair in St Johns Park, Burgess Hill, on June 7 will be an Ecodriving Simulator.
The simulator is said to be a car racing game with a difference. It shows people how to drive in an environmentally friendly way while competing against one another.
Users quickly learn how to be more fuel efficient, as well as safer, through anticipating better and making simple changes to their vehicles.
The fair will take place during the Burgess Hill Summer Festival and will showcase the work of local organisations and businesses on environmental issues, and promote sustainable living.
Mid Sussex (South) Council for Voluntary Service, the Volunteer Centre, Burgess Hill Town Council and Mid Sussex District Council are running the fair.
It falls under the umbrella of Volunteers' Week, a national celebration of volunteers and volunteering which takes place each year across the country.
Local voluntary organisations and community groups with an environmental focus are being encouraged to reserve a stall at the event, providing the opportunity to publicise their activities, network with other groups and recruit new members and volunteers.
Local businesses and food producers offering sustainable products or services are also invited to participate.
The Eco Fair also forms a component of a year-long focus on environmental issues by the Mid Sussex (South) CVS in 2008/9.
Mid Sussex Council, along with other statutory agencies, will be promoting recycling, composting and energy efficiency at the fair.
