Local voluntary organisations have until May 10, 2013, to bid for a share of £15,000 which makes up the Hall and Woodhouse West Sussex Community Chest.

The Dorset-based family brewers, famed for its Badger branded beer, has more than 50 pubs in West Sussex, and has been running its Community Chest charitable initiative here for seven years, supported by this paper, Spirit FM, and the Sussex Community Foundation.

Today (Tuesday March 19), representatives from local authorities across the county gathered at the Six Bells in Billingshurst for the launch of the 2013 awards scheme.

Chairman Mark Woodhouse said Hall and Woodhouse is pleased to help community associations, schools, sports clubs, village hall, voluntary organisations and cultural organisations with grants from £300 to £3000.

Last year 167 applications were received in West Sussex, requesting a total of £250,000. After the judges’ deliberations 20 winners were awarded a share of £15,000 each.

2013 applications are now open - look out for the application form in the paper, or visit www.hallwoodhouse.co.uk, clicking on Giving Back to the Community.
