Back to school after flood brings surprise break

Pupils were back at Windmills Junior School at Dale Avenue, Hassocks, after enjoying a surprise day off yesterday.

The school, which has 244 pupils, was forced to close last Thursday because of burst water main nearby in the same road.

It opened again this morning after the fault was fixed.

Downlands Community School in Hassocks, which is also in Dale Avenue, has not been affected.
