Grants for ‘wellbeing’ activities

PEOPLE running community groups that help make others healthier can apply for grants from the county council.

Charities, volunteers, community groups and individuals can ask for a share of a West Sussex County Council-grants programme that funds community-based activities for adults and older people.

They can apply for up to £5,000 out of a total pot of £190,000 in the Prevention and Wellbeing Grants Programme for start-up costs and social activities.

The aim is to encourage people to get out, make friends and see people, which is considered just as important as eating healthily. Among activities could be arts and crafts, quizzes or computer courses. Grants will be alloctaed in August.

For an application pack, apply either by phone or by emailing with your name, organisation, address and contact detail to Terina Bryant on 07515 052342 or terina.bryant@westsussex.gov.uk
