Park paddling pool’s previous incarnation

Haywards Heath resident Eileen Muggridge brought in this photo of Victoria Park in Haywards Heath.

The image shows the opening of the children’s paddling pool.

She said: “This is a famous picture and appears in several picturebooks on Haywards Heath.”

In June this year a new paddling pool was opened in the park by the council.

Last year, Mid Sussex District Council consulted with local people to find out exactly what they would like to see replace the old paddling pool in Victoria Park. Residents had their say on water play and, after a surge of responses, the council put in the play equipment that was most popular with the local community.

Do you have memories or stories about when the paddling pool was opened? If so you can share them with the Middy.

If you would like to share your photos with our readers either drop a photo into the Mid Sussex Times office in South Road, Haywards Heath, or email a jpg image to middy.news@sussexnewspapers.co.uk
