A round up of news stories from around Eastbourne and its districts.
Tall tales
Eastbourne Storytellers will be swopping tall tales on February 27.
The group is meeting at 7.30pm in the back restaurant of the Tally Ho pub. The theme of the evening is Fishy Tales.
Everyone is welcome. Entry is free.

Recycling
An online group is giving people the chance to get rid of unwanted items for free and in an eco-friendly way.
Freecycle is open to anyone who wants to recycle and keep unwanted items out of landfill sites.
Group members communicate through e-mail and arrange to collect or post items between each other.
There are almost 2,000 members and between 200-300 messages are posted each month.

Mother's Day
Pupils at Polegate School have the chance to win a gift to give to their mum on Mothering Sunday.
Co-operative Funeralcare, High Street, Polegate, is inviting the pupils to make a Mothering Sunday card, which will be judged by Jenni Morrison, funeral arranger for Co-operative Funeralcare.
The prizes will be presented to the winners on Friday, February 29, 9am, at Polegate School.
Kevin Wood, senior funeral director for Co-operative Funeralcare, said, "We feel it is good to become involved with the schools in the local community and we trust the cards and gifts will bring a smile to the faces of the children and their mothers."


20p sale
A gigantic 20p sale will take place at Community Wise, Ocklynge Road in Old Town, on February 23.
Books and nearly new clothes will be among the items for sale and all proceeds will go towards the running costs of Community Wise —
a charity which runs various activities for residents of all ages.
The sale will be held between 10am and 12noon.


Easter cards
Children at Parkland Infant School are using their creative skills to take part in an Easter card competition.
Eastbourne funeral director, Adela Funeral Homes in South Street, is inviting pupils to take part in the event by making a card for a friend or relative this Easter.
The competition will be judged by Parkland's headteacher, Tim Mehmet, and Emma Connaughton, funeral director for Adela Funeral Homes.
The winning youngsters will be presented with a prize on March 20 at Parkland County Infants School.
Emma Connaughton, Funeral Director for Adela Funeral Homes, said, "We are pleased to be encouraging youngsters to be creative this Easter time."
