THE latest stage of Worthing Hospital's new critical care unit has been unveiled.

Worthing mayor Christine Brown cut the ribbon on the £350,000, newly-refurbished high dependency unit (HDU).
The unit includes a new relatives' room funded by Worthing Hospitals League of Friends.
This phase was the second stage of a scheme to refurbish critical care facilities at Worthing Hospital.
Specialist careThe new £1million intensive care unit was opened in March this year.
The HDU is a particular area of the hospital where patients can be provided with more specialist care if they should become too unwell to be cared for on the general wards.
Intensive care is for the sickest patients.
Relatives' supportThe recent improvements include new climate control, infection control measures, staff facilities and lighting.
The League of Friends donated £50,000 to refurbish the relatives' room, including a new bathroom, furniture and kitchen area.
Claire Hogan, manager of the intensive care unit, said: "This is an important aspect of care as the relatives are often very distressed and at their most vulnerable."
