Villagers evacuated after gas pipe ruptured

PART of South Bank, Hassocks, had to be evacuated after a digger ruptured an electricity cable and then a domestic gas pipe.
The incident happened yesterday (Monday June 15) afternoon as builders were working on a trench near a new extension to a property in the lane.
