Man seriously hurt in bus crash

A CRASH between a bus and a van left a man seriously injured this afternoon.

Police closed Dunsfold Road near Plaistow as they investigated the crash, which was reported at around 1.45pm today (Friday September 5).

The driver of a white FedEx van was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital with serious injuries after fir
efighters released him from his vehicle using heavy rescue gear - a police spokesman said on the scene.

The three passengers on board the single-decker Arriva bus were not hurt in the crash.

Collision investigators were on the scene, and the road remained closed at 3.45pm.
