Harbour Lodge.

Harbour Lodge.

Tucked away in a peaceful residential road and just 10 minutes from the Hard Harbour Lodge, Itchenor, is an attractive New England-style house that would make a lovely holiday home, weekend retreat, or super family house.

Harbour Lodge is fully and very attractively furnished in a simple modern New England style which matches the house perfectly and can provide sleeping for at least 10. The accommodation is spacious and light with a large open plan living area in the centre of the house plus a separate study/playroom giving plenty of flexibility.

The entrance leads to the lovely open plan living area with contemporary central fireplace, stripped wooden flooring, dining and sitting areas with views over the garden and countryside beyond and French windows to the veranda and garden. Glazed doors open to the kitchen fitted in New England style with wooden floor and wooden work surfaces, Aga, larder and French windows to the outside decking.

To the other side of the entrance is the study/playroom and hall to a double bedroom, airing cupboard, family bathroom with electric shower over the bath and a further double bedroom with fitted cupboards and French windows to the decked veranda.

On the first floor the master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, fitted cupboards and French windows to a balcony which goes round the first floor and has lovely views over the garden and open farmland beyond. The second bedroom is also double, south facing with fitted cupboards and en-suite shower room.

A lovely large garden surrounds the property. A gravel driveway leads to the house with lawn either side and mature pines and shrubs. To the rear a wide decked area is adjacent to the house again very in keeping and gives a sheltered courtyard for eating and barbequing. Beyond is a lovely sweeping lawn with mature trees stretching down to open farmland and distant views of the harbour and downland beyond.

The atmosphere of the property is very nautical and is ideal for a sailing family. The double garage has a sail store over and an additional store room. A gardener is included which is a huge advantage for a holiday home or weekend home if the family time is taken up sailing or enjoying the beautiful countryside nearby.

Harbour Lodge is in a perfect position for a holiday home or weekend retreat, Itchenor with its fantastic sailing facilities is close by and footpaths lead to Chichester Harbour walks. Chichester itself is just 4 miles with extensive shopping and cultural facilities, numerous schools and good road and rail commuting routes.

Sue Crossley, of The Country House Company, commented: “Harbour Lodge is a lovely, light and contemporary house, with its clean lines, New England style and spacious accommodation it makes a great weekend home or fun full time home.”
