Theatre company tackle Berkoff play
Actors from Sussex will be performing Steven Berkoff's Metamorphosis to students at Central Sussex College in Haywards Heath to support a new drama curriculum.
Director Gary Sefton has worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company and is leading the team of five actors, who have been rehearsing the production over the summer holidays.
Physically and vocally demanding, the company has spent the past month on a grueling fitness regime comprised of press-ups, sit-ups and pull-ups.
Metamorphosis is Kafka's fable adapted by Steven Berkoff. It is the story of a travelling salesman turned bug and his heroic struggle to provide for his bourgeois, parasitic family.
The production is designed by Phillip Engleheart with lighting by Matthew Newbury and original music by Johnny Harris.
Performance dates throughout Sussex are: Tuesday, September 11 at The Capitol Theatre, Horsham, Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 at Northbrook College Theatre, Friday 14 and Saturday 15 at Central Sussex College, Hayward's Heath and Monday 17 at Chequer Mead Theatre, East Grinstead.
Tickets are 7 and concessions are 5.
