Landmark anniversary celebration in Hassocks
The Sussex Magic Circle celebrates a landmark anniversary with a show coming up in Hassocks.
Spokesman Simon Vertue said: “The Sussex Magic Circle was founded on February 15 1952 in Brighton. The inaugural meeting was held shortly thereafter on the March 3 1952. Its first president was Carl Franklyn. 60 years later, it is still going strong!
“Currently there are some 48 members of various standards and levels from the full time-professionals to the hobbyists. We meet fortnightly on Thursdays at the Hassocks Hotel, Hassocks.
“As this is our anniversary year we have booked top professionals to perform and lecture for our meetings and will be putting on a special show on October 25 which will be open to the public at the Hassocks Hotel, Station Approach, Hassocks at 8pm.
