It was a good night for the area's two senior soccer clubs as both won on the road.
Burgess Hill ended a run of three straight defeats without a goal by winning 1-0 at Ryman 1 South basement club Molesey.
The only goal came five minutes before half time when Neil Watts scored direct from a corner.
Depleted Hillians went on to prove worthy winners, getting better as the game wore on.
Hassocks also had a trip to the bottom club, winning 3-1 at Rye in the County League.
Richard Thomas, back from St Francis Rangers, scored his first senior goal of the season on 20 minutes but Rye equalised through Sam Edwards two minutes later.
Young sub Adam Williams came on for his first taste of senior football and soon played in Laurence Robinson for the second goal before scoring himself in the final minute.
In between time Rye had Joe Lambert sent off.
