Hassocks beaten
Hassocks, who complete their County League football season on Wednesday at home to Wick in what will be manager Dave John's swansong after 17 years in charge, lost 1-0 at home to Redhill on Saturday when Difford scored with a header midway through the second half.
It was a typically end of season match, with Redhill looking the stronger and home skipper Joel Harding keeping his side level at the break with some useful saves.
Phil Johnson made his full senior debut after his hat-trick in the last 20 minutes gave the youth side a remarkable 3-2 comeback win in the Sussex Youth final on Thursday. But with the youth team also playing on Sunday, Johnson played only one half.
The final at East Preston was quite an eventful game, with each side having a player taken to hospital with concussion after a clash of heads. Keeper Jack Simpson was the Robins player and sub Dan Strange took over.
