Hillians lose again

THE play-offs were a forlorn hope for both Burgess Hill and visitors Dulwich Hamlet and with each smarting from disappointing midweek defeats, it was which side reacted better to the challenge.
And that was the visitors, who were well worth the 1-0 win that completed a league double over a somewhat depleted Hillians side.
The only goal came on 38 minutes when influential midfielder Alex Martin started the move and Benson Paka left the ball for Charlie Taylor to score with a low shot to the keeper's right.
The visitors always looked the more likely scorers and it was significant that the best of Hillians' limited chances was a free header that big centre half Danny Gainsford squandered.
Home player-manager Jamie Howell admitted his side were second best but was happy enough with their attitude with so many key players missing.
This was Hillians' third defeat in eight days and not a goal scored.
