Gymnasts from the Pyramid Gymnastics Club based in Burgess Hill have enjoyed great success in the first two competitions of the year.
The season opener was the Sussex intermediate and advanced floor and vault competition at the Olympos, Burgess Hill, where there were more than 180 entries across 15 categories and representing 10 clubs different based in Sussex.
Gold medals went t
o Anne-Elizabeth Garry, Harry Seddon and Tayla Nisbet, while silvers were won by Alex Hammans, Megan Tucker and Nikki Gatland. In addition, bronze medals went to India Leadsom, Georgia Ackland Hancock, Xavier Chan, Amelia Dean, Abigail Dayman-Brittain and Laura Knight.
Next there was a four-piece competition held in Chichester, where there were more than 140 entries across six age groups and involving 13 clubs based in the south east. The Pyramid gymnasts again had a sucessful day, collecting nearly a third of the medals on offer.
The medal winners were Hannah Hart, 2nd vault; Abigail Dayman-Brittain 2nd bars and 4th overall; Monica Maccario 1st beam and 2nd overall; Georgia Ackland Hancock 2nd floor and 3rd overall; Lucy Hagger 3rd floor; Annabelle Crane 3rd vault, 2nd bars and 4th overall; Rachel Page 2nd floor and 5th overall; Chloe Brown 2nd vault, 2nd bars and 2nd overall; Teaghan Hogg 1st floor, 2nd beam, 1st bars and 1st overall; Anna Surridge 1st floor, 2nd vault, 1st beam and 1st overall; Emma Barrow 2nd floor, 3rd vault, 2nd beam and 3rd overall; Laura Knight 3rd floor, 1st vault, 1st beam, 1st bars and 1st overall.
