Newick Park Hotel staff are thrilled after winning a national award for best hotel in the UK and Ireland, and three AA Rosettes for its "outstanding" restaurant.
Owner Virginia Childs and managers Adrian Clifton and Tom Hibbert collected the Conde Nast Johanssen's award, which is decided on the basis of customer feedback to its luxury international travel guide, at a London ceremony just before Christmas.
And last Thursday Newick Park was awarded three AA Rosettes for its restaurant, which serves modern British cuisine, and sources most of its fruit, vegetables and game from the hotel estate.
It is now the only hotel in East Sussex to hold the accolade, which the AA says merits recognition "well beyond the local area".
Virginia has praised Head Chef Chris Moore and his team for their feat.
The hotel is now celebrating its success by offering a complimentary glass of champagne to diners over the next few days.
"We want everyone to share in our excitement." Virginia explained. "It's a real achievement."
