A convenience store in Chichester cannot have two internally-lit signs at its front entrance.
One Stop in St Paul's Road tried to get a government inspector to agree to its plans for the 1.3m by 2.5m advertisement signs that were refused by Chichester District Council.
But the inspector thought the advert units would stand out too much in the street, make the shop's small forecourt look 'cluttered' and be an unwanted illumination for nearby residents at night.
