A TEENAGER threatened a fellow customer in a Chichester takeaway with a stanley knife and later punched a police officer after being arrested, magistrates heard.
Jamie Matthew Bicknell (18) of Bradshaw Road, Chichester, pleaded guilty at Chichester Magistrates' Court to possessing a bladed instrument, common assault and assaulting a police officer.

He was on a night out with friends for his cousin's birthd
ay on June 29 and had gone to Perfect Pizza in The Hornet.

He had not gone home to change clothes after a day at work fitting floors, for which he needed a stanley knife. On entering the takeaway, he confronted a male who he thought was laughing at him.

He threatened to get his stanley knife out at which point the male tried to stop him. Then their foreheads met and Bicknell pushed his into the face of the victim.

Police later found him in Lewis Road and had to chase him into nearby Joys Croft, where he tripped and fell over.

They knew he was the person they were looking for because he had a pizza box with him from the takeaway.

He was arrested and taken to the police station where he punched a policeman in the back of the head before he was put in a cell.

Defending James Brotherton said: "He completely accepts that what he did was ridiculous. He knows that he let himself down. He did not go out with the intention of causing trouble."

Bicknell will appear at Chichester Crown Court on August 11 for sentencing. He was released on conditional bail.
