EXCITEMENT is building ahead of a new food event at Stansted House near Emsworth.
A Thought for Food, set in the grounds of the stately home in Rowlands Castle, takes place next weekend.
More than 100 food and drinks stalls will be set out in the theme of a village, with streets leading from a central courtyard including a foun
tain and a pub.
On the lawns will be a traditional bandstand with a tea room serving tea and scones.
A Thought for Food organiser Alistair Gibson said: "I'm really excited about it.
"I think the great thing about food is that it affects us all. What we are trying to do is make it a really good day out. There is something here for everyone."
Over the three days there are a number of demonstrations from local and celebrity chefs including Brighton based Momma Cherri.
There is also a competition inviting members of the public to test their culinary skills against the chef of Emsworth restaurant Fat Olives.
Mr Gibson added: "I think Momma Cherri will be great value, what I really like is that she has so much passion for what she does."
The event is open from 10am until 7pm on Friday, September 5. On Saturday, September 6, it is open from 10am until 6pm, and on Sunday, September 7, from 10am until 5pm.
Tickets are £6 for adults, £5.50 for students and over-60s and £2 for children. For information call 01243 431002.
Free shuttle buses are available from Emsworth square to the event at the same times as the 700 coastliner leaves the town. There will be around three buses an hour running back and forth.
