Appeal for witnesses after serious nightclub assault


Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious assault at a Sussex nightclub.

The club in Brighton is frequented by teenagers and other young people from all over Sussex who go there for entertainment and excitement.

But the Shoosh nightclub in Kings Road Arches, Brighton, was the scene of a vicious assault that left a 23-year-old man needing extensive surgery to his face.

The attack happened in the early hours of New Year’s Day, Wednesday, January 1 and detectives from Sussex Police have appealed for any witnesses who saw the incident.

They say that at about 5.30am the victim, who comes from Eastbourne, was punched in the face and fell to the floor in the club.

He suffered serious facial injuries which have since required extensive surgery.

Detectives want to speak to anyone who saw what happened and they are asked to phone Sussex Police on 101 or email:, quoting serial 1014 of 1/1.
