RAINFALL in BALCOMBE - In August it rained on 17 days giving a total of 3.90 inches of rain and making it the wettest 2015 month to date.

BALCOMBE CLUB QUIZ takes place on Sunday 13 September, teams of four.

BALCOMBE BOWLS CLUB – On Wednesday 2 September Hawth 52: Balcombe 94. On Sunday 6 September the Anniversary Trophy match was played with the winning team Brian Laker, Sandra & Graham Voller and Peter Green.

YOUTH CLUB starts again on Monday 14 September at 7.00 pm in Bramble Hall. Come along to give input into the types of activities that you would like to do. If you are in Year 7, or above, you are welcome to come along and join in.

A QUIET DAY takes place in Bramble Hall on Saturday 12 September from 10.00 am until 3.00 pm including lovely refreshments provided by Balcombe Tea Rooms. The speaker is Revd Tom Johns, former Assistant Chaplain General of HM Prison Service, Chaplain to Hampshire Constabulary and Parish Priest. He will share from his own life and experience on “Living in the Presence of God” with his gentle and humorous insights into parish and prison life amongst other things. Despite the title there is plenty of time to discuss, ask questions and chat! Booking forms available from Pennie at Church, or 01444 811249.

HARVEST FESTIVAL - This year the harvest Celebrations will be on Sunday 13 September at 10.00 am with a FAMILY EUCHARIST followed by a bring and share lunch in the Parish Room, at 12.30 pm. Home made bread and soup will be provided please let Rosemary know on 01444 400373 what you would like to bring to share or please sign the lists on the church with name, number in party, food you are bringing and whether you are able to help with setting up or clearing up.

ST. CATHERINE’S HOSPICE WALK – It is the 25th Anniversary of the Balcombe Walk on Sunday 13 September, an important fund-raiser for the Hospice. This is a marvellous circuitous walk over fields with beautiful views throughout, starting from Balcombe’s Victory Hall where there is parking provided nearby. It is family friendly through some of our most stunning Sussex woodland and countryside. There is free entry for the whole family and a nature trail for children under 12 but walkers are encouraged to raise sponsorship money. All money raised will go directly towards providing the incredible and personal care services at the hospice and in the local community. There is also an opportunity to dedicate a sunflower in memory of a loved one. Delicious home-made cakes and refreshments will be provided at the end. If you don’t feel that you can manage the full 12.5 miles then there are drop out points along the route with free transport back to the finish.

There will be a PARISH COUNCIL MEETING on Wednesday 16 September at 8.00 pm in Bramble Hall.
