CANCER RESEARCH and Muscular Dystrophy Event. Despite the miserable weather our annual charity day was a great success. Our cooks, Annie and Ana, managed to serve more than 70 plates of their delicious stir-fried chicken noodles. At the end of the day our sale and lunches had raised £1,433 for MD, and we sold £185 of Christmas cards in aid of MD UK, and £318 of cards in aid of Cancer Research UK, a total of almost £2,000. We were very pleasantly surprised that our local, and fairly new, MP Jeremy Quin, found time to call in on our proceedings, many thanks to him.
As in previous years, Balcombe delivered its usual support and generous donations of time, cash and raffle prizes. Many thanks, what a lovely village we live in. (Judy and Bryan).
