Firefighters were called twice to East Grinstead yesterday (Monday March 10) after bonfires were left unattended.

The first call came at around 3.40pm and the emergency service went to the scene, outside houses in Lower Mere.

The fire was put out using buckets of water and the area damped down and turned over.

At 5.50pm there was another call to go to a park at West Hill.

A bucket of water was again used to put the fire out.
