A large amount of jewellery and electrical items have been stolen from a house in Pangdene Close in Burgess Hill.

Sussex Police said the property was broken into between Friday July 4 and Sunday July 6 while the occupants were away.

They returned to find the patio doors had been smashed. At around 7pm on Friday a man was seen to leave the property by the side gate.

The items stolen included an Apple Imac, a black HD Kindle Fire, a Blackberry phone, a Swarovski necklace and bracelet, a Mint Velvet leather tote bag, a Braun watch, a Gucci watch, Xbox games and champagne.

Police said a fan and a magazine basket were also taken.

Detective Constable Oliver Summers said: “Thousands of pounds worth of items were stolen from this house and we think those responsible might have made several trips. A man was seen near the property on the Friday, he is described as white, between 35 and 40 and 5’ 10”.

“Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area over this weekend is asked to contact police on 101 or email 101 quoting serial 1041 of 6/7.”
