A bid by Mid Sussex District Council to introduce parking charges on its off-street car parks at Oaklands Road and Boltro Road in Haywards Heath has got the green light.

The Order proposed by Mid Sussex District Council will allow season tickets to be sold for the use of these car parks, with the intention of providing extra parking for commuters while Haywards Heath Station Car Park is re-developed.

Mid Sussex District Council needed the consent of the county council as Highway Authority to introduce charges, which was given by the Central Mid Sussex County local Committee on March 11.

The charges for season tickets in both the Oaklands Road and Boltro Road car parks are proposed to be £100 for 1 month, £280 for one quarter and £1000 for one year.
