RESIDENTS in rural parts of Sussex can look forward to faster Broadband connections thanks to a Government allocation of more than £17million.
The money is part of a £362million investment nationwide.
Sarah Lee, Head of Policy for the Countryside Alliance said: “We welcome this investment in superfast Broadband, which should provide a massive boost to the rural economy.
“However, the announcement will only ensure 90 per cent of our homes and businesses [nationwide] will have access to superfast broadband by 2015.
“In other European countries, such as Denmark, they only have 1 per cent of homes outside the reach of ADSL, WiMAX or fibre-optic broadband coverage.”
The Countryside Alliance has been a leading voice in the campaign for pushing out rural Broadband.
