Burgess Hill District Lions teamed up with a local restaurant to raise money for charity.

£400 was raised for Neighbourly Care thanks to an Indian and Bangladeshi feast last Thursday at Shapla on London Road, Burgess Hill.

A spokesman for the Lions, said: “Forty people sat down to this most enjoyable evening, which included a four course meal and a super raffle.”

The event was supported by town mayor Anne Jones, Neighbourly Care, South Downs Nurseries and the Mid Sussex Times.

“The food was excellent and the caring service made the event,” the spokesman added.

The event raised £320, and Shapla donated £80.
