Jet-setters at Gatwick Airport on Friday (July 31) would have been pleasantly surprised to see TV personality and ’60s pop star Cilla Black.

The former Blind Date host was on her way to Marbella in Spain with her eldest son Bobby.

But the following day she was found collapsed at her holiday villa in Estepona.

Paramedics were unable to revive her. She was 72 years old.

On Friday afternoon, fans took selfies with the Liverpool star at Gatwick and Malaga Airport, just a day before her death.

It is believed that her collapse was caused by a dizzy spell.

Celebrities have paid tribute to the former Cavern Club hat girl, including Cliff Richard, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.

Priscilla White found fame in the 1960s as a pop star under the management Brian Epstein who also famously represented The Beatles. He convinced her to change her last name to Black.

In 2013, Cilla celebrated 50 years of show business with a special on ITV. Her life was also made into an ITV mini-series the following year starring Sheridan Smith.

What are your memories of Cilla? Did you have the good fortune to meet her? Maybe you were one of the singletons on Blind Date?
