Edwards was an unused sub for both Wales’ European Championship qualifiers against Bosnia-Herzegovina which was a 0-0 draw on Friday and Monday night’s 2-1 victory against Cyprus.

Walsh did not make the squad but like Edwards got to train with the World’s most expensive player, Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale.

Edwards said: “The last week or so has been such a good experience, being around the squad in the hotel, training with them and then getting on the bench for both games.

“I was gutted not to get on but I have picked up so much from the experience and hopefully if I keep producing good performances for Crawley I will be included in future squads.”

He said: “All the other lads made me feel very welcome. The atmosphere around the squad is terrific and Gareth Bale is just one of the boys really when he’s with Wales.”

Walsh said: “I have enjoyed the training and the other lads have been great. I was pleased for Gwion to be involved. Hopefully if I keep playing well for Crawley more chances will come.”

Reds manager John Gregory added: “It’s amazing to see Gwion on the same team sheet as Gareth Bale who is a hero of Gwion’s.
