Attempted robbery in Burgess Hill

Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery in Burgess Hill on Saturday December 28.

A 23-year-old man was walking through the Worlds End recreation ground at around 7.30pm in the evening when he was approached by a man who demanded his phone.

The man attacked the victim and punched him but the victim was able to get away and did not hand over his phone.

Detective constable Rebecca Wilde said: “The suspect is described as white, around 23, 5ft 10in, slim build wearing dark trousers and a light blue coloured jacket or jumper.

“The victim believes he injured the suspect slightly while defending himself. Do you know someone who came home on Saturday with a bruise to their face or were you in the area on the recreation ground and have any relevent information about this attempted robbery. Please contact police on 101 quoting serial 1036 of 28/12 or alternatively contact the independent charity Crimestopper anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
