The following are results from Sussex Northern magistrates sitting at Horsham and Crawley.

Alan Burren, 38, of America Lane, Haywards Heath, was given a one year conditional discharge, with a £15 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and a £180 criminal courts charge. He had pleaded guilty to possessing a Class B drug (alpha-PVP) in Haywards Heath.

Karl Chapman, 26, of Henfield Road, Albourne, was given a community order with 100 hours of unpaid work, £100 compensation, a £60 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and a £150 criminal courts charge. He had pleaded guilty to common assault in Horsham.

Ben Clifton, 39, of Lewes Road, Forest Row, was fined £500, with a £50 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and a £180 criminal courts charge. He had pleaded guilty to breaching a non-molestation order by contacting a woman in East Grinstead.

Alexis Dufermont, 43, of Staplefield Road, Slaugham, was banned from driving for a year, with a £750 fine, a £75 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and a £150 criminal courts charge. He had pleaded guilty to drink driving at Gatwick.

Kate Kingdom, 31, of Kimberley, Pentlepoir, was given an absolute discharge, with £85 costs. She had pleaded guilty to using a phone network to send an offensive or manacing message to a person in Haywards Heath. A restraining order was made, barring her from contacting a named person, or going to an address in Haywards Heath.

Waheed Rouane, 28, of Redford Avenue, Horsham, was banned from driving for three years, with a £600 fine, a £40 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and a £150 criminal courts charge. He had pleaded guilty to drink driving, and driving without due care and attention in Cuckfield.

David Standard, 31, of Hackenden Close, East Grinstead, was given a one year conditional discharge, with a £15 victim surcharge, £35 costs, and a £150 criminal courts charge. He had pleaded guilty to using threatening or abusive words or behaviour in East Grinstead.

Ian Churchill, 69, of Langton Lane, Hurstpierpoint, was fined £235, with a £24 victim surcharge, £85 costs, a £150 criminal courts charge, and five penalty points added to his licence. He had pleaded guilty to speeding at Handcross.

Andrew Kingston, 52, of High Street, Halling, was fined £165, with a £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs, a £150 criminal courts charge, and three penalty points added to his licence. He had pleaded guilty to speeding at Bolney.

Xiaoyu Ma, 21, of Fairbourne Drive, Mickleover, was fined £145, with a £20 victim surcharge, £85 costs, a £150 criminal courts charge, and three penalty points added to his licence. He had pleaded guilty to speeding at Bolney.

Jon-Alan Mitchell, 20, of Faulkners Way, Burgess Hill, was sentenced to four weeks in a young offender institution, with an £80 victim surcharge, £85 costs, and a £180 criminal courts charge. He had pleaded guilty to using racially aggravated threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of violence, racially aggravated assault, common assault, criminal damage, possessing cannabis, and six counts of theft, all in Burgess Hill.

Louis Smith, 21, of Gordon Road, Burgess Hill, was given a community order, with £85 costs. He had pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly, and admitted breaching a conditional discharge.
