Around 25 firefighters were called to a fire at a home in Burgess Hill yesterday evening (May 27).

The fire broke out in Firtoft Close at around 9.30pm and crews spent an hour fighting the flames.

A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire and Rescue service said three fire engines were initially sent to the scene but fourth was called due to the size of the fire.

The fire was extinguished using two high pressured hose reels, a water jet and six breathing apparatus.
