Santa Claus made a fitting entrance to Haywards Heath Fire Station’s Christmas party - by hitching a lift in a fire engine.
Children of firefighters were given a shock when the fire engine pulled up at the party on Sunday December 13, with Father Christmas sitting in the front seat.
Donations were also raised for the Fire Fighter’s Charity, which is used by firefighters for rehabilitation after injury.
Watch manager Matt Myerscough said: “It was the first time we have done it for about ten years.
“The idea was to have a party for the children and to raise money for the Fire Fighter’s Charity.
“Santa came in on a fire engine, so we had the kids upstairs looking out the window. Santa jumped out and gave them some presents in the grotto.”
The youngsters were entertained with various games at the party.
They were also treated to the snow-covered mini-winter wonderland of Santa’s Grotto, where they received some early Christmas gifts.
In total, about £110 was raised for charity on the day.
