A Haywards Heath man is to spend two weeks on a 119km trek to Everest base camp next month.
Matthew, who works at Santander’s Chingford branch, will be heading to Mount Everest on October 5 to raise funds for CLIC Sargent, the bank’s charity of the year.
He said: “I’m really looking forward to the trek. I know it’s going to be tough work so I’ve been in putting some hard hours training for it.
“However, it’s for a really good cause, so the blood, sweat and tears will be well worth it.”
CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families.
Lisa Whittaker, Corporate Account Manager, CLIC Sargent, said: “We are delighted with the enthusiasm and commitment being shown by Matthew and the whole team.”
